Who are we?
The “Society of Saint Vincent de Paul” (SSVP Global) is a international charitable organization present in more than 50 countries around the world. It is a Catholic, secular organization, run by volunteers and created in Paris in 1833 by a group of lay Catholics among whom was the one who would later be beatified by Pope Jean Paul II, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam.
In Canada, it settled there in 1846 with its first seat in Quebec. In Canada, the SSVP is led by the “National Council of Canada ”(SSVP Canada). In Quebec, it is headed by the “Conseil provincial (regional) of Quebec (SSVP-CRQ)”.
